I work with clients collaboratively, from a strength-oriented perspective. Your situation is unique, and your treatment plan should be individualized based on your needs and goals. I have a wide range of expertise, and I can use my experience to inform the interventions that I suggest. I have specialized training in techniques that have been proven to be effective in addressing anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex trauma and BPD. For example, many patients come to me looking to integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy approaches into our work together. Most importantly, however, I value the collaborative development of the treatment approach.

I work with you as a whole and complex person, not a “diagnosis” that would respond to a textbook or cookie cutter approach. By developing a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship, you can share experiences and patterns of thinking and behavior that you may have been keeping hidden from others and even yourself for many years. Next, we can work toward the development of new skills and behavioral routines so that you can see rapid improvement and increase your sense of hope and mastery in your situation, rather than feeling helpless, overwhelmed and stuck.

Through the therapy experience, you can feel better able to understand where these old patterns have come from, what has been keeping you stuck and how to move forward into new and healthy patterns of thought, emotion and behavior. With new skills and with insight into how the mind works, I can help you feel better about yourself, accept challenges without feeling overwhelmed, pursue meaningful activities, make yourself happier and able pursue important life goals, such as those for your relationships and career, even if you previously felt unable. Don’t let your symptoms keep getting in your way. Know that things can get better.
