Video Inspires Hope for BPD

A BPD diagnosis can make someone feel hopeless at first

People struggling with BPD often find that any media portrayals are sensational and pessimistic. Seeing such representations can make patients and their loved ones feel hopeless about the possibility of recovery.  I often find myself needing to explain to new patients that they can indeed recover from BPD and build a fulfilling life. I have seen this happen with many patients, but especially at the start of treatment it can be difficult for a patient to belief that real process is possible and that they will be able to build a life that feels as if it is worth living.

This video inspires hope for BPD recovery

A recent video shared on YouTube (https://youtu.be/4cAmuiFkE8Q) presents an intimate look at the personal stories of several clients with BPD traits and the help they have found through psychotherapy. The video was shared by Mike Menu and is described as “A mindful glimpse into the world of those living with symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder. Dr. Blaise Aguirre contributes to frame the conversation around symptoms, treatment and hope.”  I hope that you will watch the video. If you have a friend or family member with BPD, you may gain some insight into his or her experience.  If you have BPD traits, I the video may help you see that you are not alone and that there is a path to recovery. This video inspires hope for BPD recovery for many who see it. It is my sincere wish that this will be true for you as well.
